As a note, I am ignoring the relationship with Ultra Girl. It started out as a teacher/student relationship and, during Avengers Academy, Vance makes it clear that he thinks that such relationships are inappropriate while dealing with a student's crush on him. Because of this, I regard the earlier relationship to be inconsistent with Vance's personality and stated moral standing, so I'm ignoring it.


INCENTIVE:
Vance has, in the past few years, watched as his original team, the original New Warriors who were more family to him than anybody he shared actual DNA with, almost all died. Two of them -- Night Thrasher and Namorita -- died at Stamford. Robbie Baldwin was thought to be dead for a time, Angelica Jones has fought cancer and Vance has only heard about the death of Richard Rider/Nova.

Even though he doesn't know that Robbie is in Eudio (since it takes place out of time and he probably only saw Robbie a few hours before), Vance has decided to fix something very recent to him. After all, he's had a lot of time to come to terms with Stamford and the loss of the friends who died there. Since Angelica is on the mend from her cancer scare and is currently teaching with the X-Men, he has instead opted to bring back Richard Rider from his death. (No, Robbie. He's still not doing the dance.)

FIT:
To be honest, the fit is probably going to be awkward at first. Vance has only ever had one proper relationship in his life and...that kind of imploded. Spectacularly. He still very much loves Angelica, but they had grown apart even while living together and planning their wedding. Things only got more strained after the Civil War and Angelica leaving the Avengers entirely. The fact that everything is low key will likely help him a lot because the way things ended with Angelica has left him feeling a little at loose ends. He's not hugely physically demonstrative, at least in public, but hand holding? Yeah, he can do that. I think it would be good for him to make more friends, expand his horizons a bit.

Most importantly, Vance understands consent. In most instances, when he's being written well, he takes a lot of care with consent. When Angelica Jones pulled away and ended their relationship, he didn't press things with her and, while not happy, didn't pursue things with her when she was clear she wasn't happy. When his student, Veil, had a crush on him in Avengers Academy, he was careful to discourage the crush itself without crushing her feelings. Other than the bad writing with Ultra Girl, he has always been show to be someone who puts up appropriate boundaries and respects the boundaries of those around him.

TDM at The Legion - Even though it's a different RPG, you get to see Vance in a different mode with a different sort of character than Robbie. This one is with Richard Rider/Nova, who is the character that Vance is wanting to bring back.

Vance's Powers
Vance is a powerful telekine, owing to his mutant genes. By using his powers on himself, he can levitate and fly at great speeds and with great maneuverability. He can also hold up groups of people or large masses, able to manipulate them and place them with ease. He can also channel his powers into blasts of great force and defensive shielding.

His powers have been capped at being able to lift or blast a small car in Eudio.
